To help better explain what NSCA is, what we do, and what our members do, our board of directors took the time to document the significance of NSCA in the industry and to their own integration firms. Through a series of blog posts, we’ll reveal what they had to say. These statements were captured during a 2015 strategic planning session as we examined the industry and contemplated NSCA’s role as the voice, business resource, and trusted advisor for the channel and the systems integrator.
Next to share his expertise is NSCA Board Member Kelly McCarthy, who is also president at Genesis Integration.
NSCA is a whole different organization than it was when I first became involved. By design, we have taken what was a tradeshow organizer and became a true business resource to our members. This has resulted in far greater value to the systems integration community. Today, we are about leadership. We are about business success. We are about spotting trends and sharing that information quickly and effectively so our members can adapt to the change and benefit from our network of industry leaders.
The Business & Leadership Conference (BLC) is my favorite event of the year. What it has become truly demonstrates the vision of our leadership and where the future is unveiled. I’ve seen occasions where the discussions at BLC actually shape the way we do business today. Taking advantage of this opportunity has allowed me to get out in front of the pack and, in turn, has truly impacted my business success.
We have so much more to accomplish. Our industry is in a constant state of transformation with shifting business models, outside competition and influences, rapidly increasing client expectation, and technology advancements. Together, our leadership team is taking this challenge on to make sure our members are prepared. I’m proud to say that I’m part of the leadership and direction the organization has taken. NSCA is where we all belong if we want to maximize our chance of success going forward. –Kelly McCarthy, NSCA Board Member, 2007 – Present
