Held Oct.25-26, 2016 in Dallas, the first-ever Pivot to Profit event exceeded our expectations. Even though the more than 175 people in attendance came from different technology focuses – security, life safety, IT, and AV integration companies were all represented – they all had one thing in common: They wanted to learn how to “pivot” to manage the unavoidable disruption headed toward their current revenue models.

Some of the most interesting conversations centered on:

  • Financial models and alternative financing options
  • The type of culture needed to foster RMR, and how it differs from the culture seen in traditional integration companies
  • The types of people it takes to originate RMR business
  • Risk/reward factors of moving into managed services
  • Liability and associated risk prevention measures associated with gaining remote access to clients’ networks
  • Sales compensation plans and metrics for measuring success with RMR sales
