Is there an opportunity here is to create an industry certification that is relevantly code/standard-based; one that takes into account not only the generalities of what AVC integrators do (conduit, basic electrical theory, etc.) but also some of the specifics that aren’t covered in the typical trade exam (networking, audio/video/lighting/control systems 101, POE, etc.)?

I think it would be great. Imagine if it were a viewed as a pre-cursor to the typical contractor’s exam. As we review low voltage license exams around the country they all seem to have the same general questions. It would be fantastic if that were nationwide and include Canada.
