The new Taurus variant brings an improved USB Hub, providing faster connections and enhanced compatibility with non-compliant USB devices and extenders. In the future, problem-solving for sure will become synonymous with the name of Taurus HC40.
Users who connect their laptop or other mobile device via USB-C can also enjoy charging up to 100W (120W total), thus eliminating the need to look for a wall plug and to avoid sudden interruption of meetings. Good news for Mac users, there’s an updated USB-Ethernet gateway for MacBook M1/M2 compatibility.
Our commitment to innovation doesn’t stop here: the Taurus UCX HC40 boasts an array of general improvements, including a front live LED for easy status monitoring and the ability to configure internal pull-up/pull-down for Room Occupancy (OCS). It also provides more flash storage space, which is particularly advantageous for Lightware’s LARA. And, the new vent hole design ensures efficient passive cooling. In the 4×2 and 2×1 variants, we’ve switched the second USB host port to USB-C (data only) to support active USB extender cables. This simplifies your setups and ensures that you can seamlessly extend your AV systems.
In November 2023, a Dante-version of the Taurus UCX 4×2 variant, known as the UCX-4×2-HC40D, will be released. This version comes with support for Dante/AES67 network connection, enabling the immediate de-embedding of audio signals from the HDMI source. These audio signals can then be sent directly to an external audio system that is Dante/AES67 compatible. What’s more, the UCX-4×3-HC40BD product version, which will have the bidirectional Dante feature, is coming in early 2024.
