Many believe that the biggest threat to contractors is the economy. But it’s actually unlicensed contractors operating within the industry. When bidding for jobs, licensed contractors factor in insurance, worker’s compensation policies, taxes, and permits. Typically, unlicensed contractors don’t have these costs, which gives them a significant bidding advantage over licensed competition.
Although most states have had contractor licensing requirements on the books for years, unlicensed activity has remained prevalent and largely unchecked - until recently. Current legal victories, intensive investigations and sting operations, and a widespread marketing efforts by state contractor licensing boards on unlicensed activity have caused many to review state regulations to make sure they are compliant.
Attend this webinar to hear from NSCA’s new partner, API Licensing, about which states have made the greatest changes to their regulations, what you can do to ensure that you are compliant, and learn the risks associated with non-compliance.
