Chuck Wilson’s induction into the SSI Hall of Fame this year is a well-deserved recognition of a career defined by service, innovation, and unwavering dedication.

For several decades, NSCA CEO Emeritus Chuck Wilson has been a quiet force helping to drive the success of security integrators. As the long-time executive director of NSCA and cofounder of the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) initiative, his mission has always been to elevate the industry by helping integrators run their businesses better.

Recently, in recognition of his dedication and commitment to this mission, he was inducted into the SSI Hall of Fame. This is an especially fitting honor as he transitions into retirement this year.

A Career Built on Supporting Integrators

Security integration leaders across the country know Chuck as the steady voice offering insights on best practices, working to overcome legislative hurdles, and coaching peers on compliance challenges. He’s known as the trusted advisor who always picks up the phone to answer the business questions no one else can.

Under Chuck’s leadership, NSCA pioneered the Business & Leadership Conference, now the industry’s premier event for business leaders. He launched essential research reports such as the Financial Analysis of the Industry, Compensation & Benefits Report, and Guide to State Licensing.

In the past few years, he helped launch the Connected Technology Industry Consortium to advocate for a unified approach to legislative threats that could impede security integrators.

A Defining Moment in School Security

One of Chuck’s most impactful contributions, however, came in 2015. After visiting an inner-city school in Chicago and witnessing firsthand the security challenges it faced, his drive home became a defining moment for the security industry as a whole.

He reached out to his colleagues at the Security Industry Association (SIA) to share what he experienced, and to brainstorm ways to bridge the gap between what the security technology industry offers and what schools need most. By the time he pulled into his driveway a few hours later, PASS was born to establish free school safety guidelines that are transforming security infrastructure and procedures for school districts nationwide.

Continuing to Shape the Industry

Even as he enters retirement, Chuck remains deeply engaged with the industry. As the vice chair of the PASS Advisory Council, he continues working to shape school safety initiatives. He also continues to monitor legislative developments for NSCA and consults with integrators that need business advice.

His induction into the SSI Hall of Fame this year is a well-deserved recognition of a career defined by service, innovation, and unwavering dedication.

Congratulations, Chuck. The industry is stronger because of you.
