Santa Rosa, CA – July 20, 2026 – For nearly three decades, John Rudolph helped shape PCD into one of Northern California’s most respected AV integration firms. Today, he’s ensuring that legacy continues naming industry veteran Hal Truax as the company’s new President. Great companies aren’t built on one leader. They’re built on leaders who know when it’s time to pass the torch.
The transition marks the culmination of a thoughtful succession plan designed to ensure continuity for employees, customers and partners while positioning PCD for continued growth. Founded in 1980 by Henry Beaumont, PCD built its early reputation delivering school sound systems and commercial cable television distribution solutions throughout Northern California. When Rudolph joined the company in 1999, he helped transform PCD into a full-service audiovisual systems integrator, expanding into education, government, hospitality, performing arts, corporate and commercial markets while strengthening the company’s reputation for engineering excellence and trusted customer relationships. In the years that followed, longtime operations leader Bill Graham played a pivotal role in building the operational infrastructure, policies and processes that enabled the company’s growth before retiring earlier this year. Today, that foundation established by Beaumont, expanded under Rudolph’s leadership, and strengthened through Graham’s operational expertise, positions PCD for its next chapter under Truax.
Today, that foundation is stronger than ever
Over the past year and a half, PCD has experienced tremendous growth, expanded its engineering and sales teams, and strengthened its position as Northern California’s premier AV systems integrator. Rudolph believes the timing couldn’t be better to hand leadership to someone he has complete confidence in.
“One of the greatest privileges of leadership is knowing when it’s time to let the next generation lead. This transition didn’t happen overnight, it’s the result of years of building an incredible team and planning for the future. Henry gave me the opportunity to help grow this company, Bill helped create the operational foundation that allowed us to scale, and Hal has been instrumental in preparing PCD for what’s next. That’s exactly how great companies endure,” said Rudolph. “PCD is thriving. We have an incredible team, outstanding customers, and tremendous momentum. Hal has been instrumental in that success from day one, and I know the company couldn’t be in better hands. While I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family, my vineyard, and finally saying yes to a few more gigs with my band, I’ll always be available if the team needs me. PCD has been part of my life for nearly three decades, and I’ll always be cheering them on.”
Truax assumes the role after joining PCD as VP in early 2025, quickly becoming a driving force behind the company’s continued expansion. With more than 30 years of experience in professional audiovisual integration, executive leadership, business development and strategic growth, Truax brings a unique combination of technical expertise and customer-first leadership that aligns naturally with PCD’s culture. His promotion follows months of collaboration alongside Rudolph, ensuring a seamless transition for both employees and clients.
“John has built something truly special,” said Truax. “His leadership has never been about simply growing a business, it has been about building relationships, earning trust, and creating a culture where people genuinely care about delivering exceptional results. I’m honored by the confidence he’s placed in me and excited to build on that legacy. Our mission remains the same: helping our clients solve complex technology challenges while delivering an experience that makes them lifelong partners. John’s impact on PCD extends far beyond the projects we’ve completed,” added Truax. “He created a company culture centered around integrity, accountability and taking care of people. Those values aren’t changing. If anything, we’re building upon them.”
