NSCA Education Foundation & WAVE Announce Scholarship Recipients for BLC

January 20, 2015

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA, Jan. 20, 2015 – The NSCA Education Foundation and WAVE (Women in AV) are proud to announce the names of three aspiring female business leaders who were granted scholarships to attend the 17th annual Business & Leadership Conference (BLC) in Tampa, FL, on Feb. 26-28.

Kelly Perkins from AVI Systems in Minneapolis; Christa Bender from Applied Video Technology Inc. in Kimberton, PA; and Maria Cody from AVDB Group in Tempe, AZ, will all be attending BLC this year to learn and network with more than 300 electronic systems integration leaders.

Thanks to the time and talents of the Drunk Unkles (and NSCA members in the New York area who volunteered and sponsored two Drunk Unkles gigs last year), the NSCA Education Foundation was able to raise enough money to provide these three scholarships for the 2015 NSCA Business & Leadership Conference. Sponsors that made the 2014 Drunk Unkles events possible include AV Services, Advanced AV, B&A, FSR, iVCI, Listen Technologies, Sapphire Marketing, Sennheiser, Symco, Synnex, Verrex Corp., and West Penn Wire.

According to Chuck Wilson, executive director for the NSCA Education Foundation, “NSCA received many excellent nominations for these scholarships. But these three women stood out to our judges because they demonstrate the type of leadership we need in our industry. I’m particularly excited for them to join us for Liz Wiseman’s keynote. Her topics align with the goals of our Foundation to help build our next generation of leaders.”

The 2015 NSCA Education Foundation Industry Charity Golf Outing will also be held in conjunction with the 17th annual BLC. Sponsors include:

  • Host Sponsor: Accu-Tech
  • Shirt Sponsor: Chief Manufacturing
  • Breakfast Sponsor: Atlona
  • Tee Sponsor: Herman ProAV
  • Cart Sponsors: Communications Specialists Inc.; Da-Lite; Listen Technologies
