Several NSCA Business Accelerators and Member Advisory Councilmembers are turning their attention to business continuity amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve rounded up some of their offerings.
There is no silver bullet or playbook for business continuity amid the COVID-19 crisis. To help, NSCA is focused on providing pragmatic business advice with the central goal of helping our member companies stay in business.
Many of NSCA’s Business Accelerator and Member Advisory Council partners are focused on the same: providing valuable business continuity advice based on their respective areas of expertise.
Here, we’ve listed several business continuity resources from NSCA partners that may be helpful to you. We add to this list as we learn about other credible resources.
Applying for Government Assistance
Our friend Verne Harnish, author of Scaling Up and a Business & Leadership Conference (BLC) keynoter, suggests that companies consider adding an expense line item called COVID-19 to allocate expenses related to staff and personal time spent dealing with the crisis. He pointed us toward a video by fellow BLC keynoter Ron Lovett, author of Outrageous Empowerment, that explains why doing so will make it easier to apply for government assistance (if and when it becomes available).
Understanding Tax Impact
It’s challenging to keep up with policy and legislative changes as our governments react to COVID-19 and its impact on the economy. NSCA Business Accelerator alliantgroup recently conducted a webinar aimed at providing clarity around these tax and policy updates. It addresses what changes are on the horizon and what various relief provisions mean for U.S. businesses. Find the archived webinar here.

Meanwhile, Defendify conducted a webinar, Cybersecurity From Home: Safety Tips for WFH Situations, intended to answer questions and offer tips about keeping remote workforce data secure against cyber-threats. Find the archived webinar here. Plus, there’s an informative blog.
Considering Your HR Response
NSCA Business Accelerator Insperity provides many NSCA members with HR and benefits strategies. The group offers a blog that outlines important considerations. It even formed the Insperity Business Continuity Support Team, a task force designed to help small and medium-sized businesses maintain operations and business continuity through the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19: Navigating Through a Pandemic is the first in a series of weekly webinars to help businesses through these uncertain times. Additional resources include:
