The last few years have proven to be exciting times in our industry. Customer demands and shifting business models are changing how we run our businesses. The lack of available talent is a huge barrier to growth; our integrator and manufacturer members constantly find themselves scrambling to manage priorities.
We’ve felt these changes at NSCA, too. Although we continuously attract new members due to the unmatched tools and resources we offer, our membership isn’t growing by large numbers (in part due to the many mergers and acquisitions occurring industry-wide in integration firms and manufacturers). Despite this, NSCA has never been busier as we guide you through these business transformations and create tools to address your challenges.
With your feedback, we have developed new programs like Ignite to help you find talent, and continue to produce valuable reports such as the Financial Analysis of the Industry to track and benchmark key financial ratios and the Labor Installation Standard to assist with job costing and correctly estimating and closing projects.
Just like you, we’re making some changes to keep pace with what you – our members – want and need. The industry’s changing ecosystem and demand for additional business tools have set in motion a change to our dues structure.
Here are a few membership modifications we’re rolling out on Jan. 1, 2019:
- All NSCA resources will be available to all members. This includes our exclusive industry research, online tools like the Technical Assessment Tool and C-SIP certification, unlimited job listings on the Ignite Job Board, the Project Contribution Simulator, and the Essentials Online Library, to name just a few. In the past, some members have had to pay to use these resources. Moving forward, everyone will have access to them at no additional cost.
- For integrators, membership fees will be based on your firm’s employee headcount and annual revenue instead of having to choose between multiple membership levels. For manufacturers, membership fees will be based on the number of brands your organization wants to promote and grow.
- Because we are bundling so many great resources into NSCA membership, we will cap integrator membership at 1,000 companies to make sure we have a responsive and connected network of integrators and manufacturers. Once we hit that number, we’ll establish a waiting list and contact companies as memberships become available. This allows us to ensure great value to existing members before we take on more than we can manage.
These exciting changes will add even more value to your membership, and they will help NSCA continue to seek and provide the additional tools and resources you need to create and sustain business excellence.
