General FAQ
- Why did NSCA and InfoComm decide to cooperate to consolidate trade shows and refocus the industry event calendar?
- The latest statistics from NSCA Systems Integration Expo™ indicate that over 78% of the attendees and 80% of the exhibitors plan to also participate in InfoComm. That trend has been building in this direction for the past five years; the consolidation of the trade shows makes sense for our industry.
- When does the cooperative effort begin?
- Immediately. NSCA and InfoComm have begun to collaborate and plans for shared events are underway. In June 2008, InfoComm will host NSCA exhibitors and members at its show. At this event, NSCA University classes and certification testing will be offered. Upcoming collaborative efforts include NSCA TechWeek.
- What is the NSCA focus going forward?
- NSCA as a trade organization will continue as an industry leader in education and services to members. Education events, certification programs and member services including insurance and research will continue to be offered by the association. New and relevant programs for our industry in all of these areas will see continued development. This is an exciting growth time for all of the programs between the two associations as the focus on our members and helping them to grow their organizations through education and member services is more apparent than ever.
- Will my affiliations with each organization be impacted?
- No. The Associations will continue to be separate entities with educational offerings and member services available through both. Membership in each organization is of value. Now more than ever it is important to belong to an association that can provide you with value in terms of a tradeshow experience, and an organization that provides you with significant member benefits, education and certification programs, and the insight into the industry you need in order for your organization to be successful.
- What is NSCA TechWeek?
- NSCA TechWeek, sponsored by InfoComm, will be launched in the Fall of 2008. The focus of this event is education, not another trade show. This event will feature education programs from NSCA University and the InfoComm Academy and will include tabletop exhibits and manufacturer training. NSCA TechWeek, sponsored by InfoComm, will be an event exclusive to the professional A/V channel and electronic systems professionals. This trade-only conference will feature education, certification programs and manufacturer training. The event is being developed for technicians, installers, and design and sales personnel.
- Will the 2007 NSCA Fall Business Conference be impacted?
- No. The 2007 NSCA Fall Business Conference will be held as scheduled October 21-23 at the Paradise Point Resort in San Diego, CA. As part of further event consolidation, InfoComm will discontinue its Executive Business Conference and become a primary sponsor of the NSCA Business Conference.
- Will NSCA Expo 2008 be held in Dallas?
- No. NSCA and InfoComm are making plans to integrate the NSCA Systems Integration Expo™ into the InfoComm show starting in June 2008 in Las Vegas.
- How will staffing change? What about your Expo staff?
- NSCA will offer many new initiatives, events, educational courses, and membership benefits. We’ll need our staff to support all these enhanced offerings.
- Why should manufacturers take part in NSCA TechWeek?
- It provides another excellent opportunity for you to reach technicians, installers, designers and sales personnel. It’s a trade-only event and sponsorships are available for table-top displays.
- What about the great events and activities I’ve attended sponsored by the NSCA Education Foundation?
- Those events will still take place, however, we’ll host them at InfoComm. The Foundation is also exploring opportunities to hold its events at NSCA’s business conference and at other events throughout the year.
- Will NSCA have a special place within InfoComm?
- Yes. NSCA will have its own pavilion at InfoComm, which will include electronic systems, networking, security, intercom and tools of the trade, just to name a few. InfoComm is hoping to locate it near the existing audio pavilion.
- What’s the location for the InfoComm event, which will include NSCA?
- InfoComm has signed a 6-year contract beginning in Las Vegas June 2008, moving to Orlando in June 2009, and rotating cities thereafter.
- What about NSCA’s Education programs? What will happen to them?
- Our quality education programs will not be affected.

Testimonials:
“NSCA education is so specific to our industry and it’s practical, which means that you can go back to your office and use it immediately. With other educational classes, it takes several weeks just to reconstruct what you learned and apply it for this industry.”
