About Licensing Issues

Being properly licensed can save you and your business thousands and thousands of dollars – from state and federal fines to insurance and liability costs. It is also a way to promote your company. You are more qualified to design, install, service, or monitor work that your competitors may not be licensed to do.

Licensure is interpreted differently throughout North America. While some states have specific licenses for low-voltage work (as defined by the NEC section XXXXX), other states have not yet required a license for this specific work, or it is categorized under any electrical work. Additionally, if you specialize in security or life-safety technologies, alarm, telecommunications and other low-voltage work, you may acquire additional licensure or certificates.
