Ray Bailey expected to save his company money through the NSCA-endorsed member benefit SystemsPlus™ Insurance Solutions program, but he didn’t anticipate how much he would save — and that the process would be so simple.
“These guys know our business and that’s what made the difference,” said Bailey, president of Lone Star Communications, Inc., of Grand Prairie, Texas, a low-voltage integrator specializing in schools and hospitals.
As insurance experts in the low-voltage commercial electronics industry, SystemsPlus agents were better able to evaluate Lone Star’s needs. Through SystemsPlus, Bailey learned that his company had been paying for some unnecessary coverage. His company saved $53,000 in insurance costs by making the switch.
And the experts at SystemsPlus made it all so easy.
Bailey said the process was fairly simple: Lone Star provided SystemsPlus with information regarding areas of coverage and SystemsPlus representatives suggested what Lone Star did and did not need. After some clarification, the process was completed.
In the past, Bailey had to spend a lot of time educating independent insurance agents about Lone Star’s industry. And that expertise made Bailey comfortable that his company’s insurance needs were covered.

“They do a good job of knowing what you need and what you don’t need,” Bailey said. “We were able to get in the right categories. I think that’s why [we experienced] all the savings.”
As a member of the NSCA board of directors, Bailey learned about SystemsPlus through former board member James Beckham of Audio-Video Corporation of Amarillo, Texas. Because Beckham “saved a lot of money” through SystemsPlus, Bailey had his controller check out the insurance solution earlier this year.
Bailey was so shocked to learn his company would save more than 30 percent that he had the numbers checked twice.
“I never expected it to be that high,” he said. “Sure enough, we found we could save a substantial amount as well. So, we signed up for it.”
