The Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system is used by U.S. government agencies to classify workers into occupational categories for the purposes of collecting, calculating, or disseminating data. Please note that this code describes occupations held by individuals and does not describe the industries in which people work. (See the SIC table for that.)
