Registering and Licensing Wireless Microphones
Wireless Microphone Licensing
Click here for more information on the licensing of wireless microphones, use Form 601 Schedule D and Schedule H.
Frequency-Agile Wireless System
Specify only the tuning range of the system, not the actual frequencies intended for use. For example, the application might read “470.000 – 585.000 MHz.”
Licensing Fees
The licensing fee is per application, not per system. You could list 100+ wireless mics on one form and pay just $75 for the entire application.
Performance Venue Licensure
The current rules (dating back to the 1970s) require only broadcasters, cable companies and TV/film production companies to license wireless mics. Many organizations have lobbied for licensing rules to apply to performance venues (churches, theaters, convention centers), but Google and Microsoft are lobbying against this. The FCC is considering the issue.
