One to Three Years of Experience – EST-L2 Certification

Show employers that you have specialized knowledge and skills in the commercial electronic systems industry.

NSCA's Electronic Systems Technician (EST-L2) exam tests the skill sets of technicians with one to three years of experience in the commercial electronic systems industry.

NSCA’s EST-L2 is designed for professionals with one to three years of industry experience whose primary occupation is the commercial or residential design and/or integration, installation and field maintenance/service of: cabling, infrastructure, and/or products that transport voice, video, audio and data signals; products that control signals; and products that use signals to control mechanical and electrical apparatus. EST-L2 certification confirms your experience and skill levels.

This certification complements the existing ESPA C-EST® certification, which targets installers with 0-12 months of experience. NSCA is a founding partner of the ESPA organization, and its exams serve as a baseline for NSCA’s certification program.

EST-L2 Review Course
An industry certification can help set you apart and secure your career for the future. The EST-L2 Review Course is part of NSCA University’s Technician Training Series curriculum focusing on Level 2 development of technician skills. The NSCA Technician Training Series provides complete training for technicians and installers in the commercial electronic systems industry.

This eight-hour review course is designed to help installers and technicians in the Level 2 training track grow in professional competence and confidence as they prepare for their Level 2 certification exam. With an instructor’s guidance, this course is designed to help participants recall the key points they have already studied in prior courses. It highlights the major issues participants are expected to know, and it helps them evaluate their readiness for the certification exam.

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Describe how to perform a rough-in installation involving wall and ceiling boxes, wire and cable, and conduit with supporting hardware.
  • Outline techniques for installing terminations and components, including structured cabling and component testing.
  • Identify how to do a project closeout with system activation, troubleshooting and the completion of documentation.
