Women in NSCA ListServ Instructions

The ListServ is an "e-mail" list of women working in the electronic systems integration industry.  It is intended to be an educational and informative online forum where women can interact, exchange ideas, and learn from each other.

Disclaimer: NSCA is not responsible or accountable for any communications or actions regarding content of the NSCA ListServ.  Messages displayed on the ListServ do not necessarily express the views or opinions of NSCA.  All communication and participation is at will.

You must be a woman involved in the commercial electronic systems industry to participate in the ListServ.

Here is how it works:

  1. You must "subscribe" to the ListServ. The list membership is moderated, which means that your subscription must be approved by NSCA.
  2. Once on the ListServ, you will receive messages from other list members.  To post a message to the list, simply address it to WomenInNSCA@nsca.org and the entire list will receive it. Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, affiliation, location, and e-mail address with all posts and replies.  Attachments should be limited to 1 MB.

ListServ Etiquette

You agree to abide by the following etiquette when using the List:

  1. Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, affiliation, location, and e-mail address.
  2. State the topic of the comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting.
  3. Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply, delete any header information, and put your response before the original posting.  Do NOT change the name of a ListServ thread. Simply hit the "Reply to:" button and LEAVE THE NAME UNCHANGED.
  4.  Keep your messages concise and to the point.
  5. Please do not advertise via the ListServ.
  6. Only send a message to the entire List when it contains information that everyone can benefit from.
  7. Do not send administrative messages, such as remove me from the List, through the List.

ListServ Rules

  1. Do not post commercial messages. The cyberspace term for this is spamming. Contact people directly with products and services that you believe would help them.
  2. Intentional insults and personal criticism directed at an individual or company will not be tolerated. Rebuttals to another person's opinions or beliefs should always be made in a rational, logical and mature manner, whether they are made publicly or privately.
  3. Do not post messages if they encourage or facilitate members to arrive at any agreement that either expressly or impliedly leads to price fixing, a boycott of another's business, or other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade. Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate: prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale or services; salaries; profits, profit margins, or cost data; market shares; allocation of clients or territories; or selection, rejection, or termination of clients or third party payors.

In the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to NSCA’s attention, NSCA will take all appropriate action.

NSCA reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these rules.
